Our U11’s were at home today against Slaney Rovers.
Both teams started of with some good passages of play and counter attacking football.
Parkville took the lead with a close-range power shot from Rico Emad. Rico doubled Parkville’s tally and his when he slotted home a thru ball from Adam Cleary.
Early in the second half, Slaney pulled one back with a good strike from outside the box.
The next 10 mins saw a close battle between these two teams with chances missed at both ends.
Markus Ragelis picked the ball up on the half line, and what turned out to be a great solo effort made it 3-1.
Parkville started to get the momentum and with a goalmouth scramble, the ball fell to Rico Emad who rifled the ball into the roof of the net to claim his first and the team's first Hat Trick. With the game beyond Slaney at this point they still made some chances happen but with Oisin Byrne and Eoghan O’Sullivan on form, failed to score again. Dylan Walker rounded off the game with a perfectly placed shot into the bottom corner from close range. Slaney had one final chance, but Rian Byrne rushed off his line to make a brilliant save. The matched finished 5-1 to Parkville. This match was a lot closer than the scoreline reflects, but Parkville being more clinical when in front of the goal. An overall great team performance by our lads. Well done boys.
