Nationalist Premier Division
Parkville United A.F.C. 0-1 New Oak Boys

After a long break for both teams, credit must go to both sides for the quality of football displayed today at Hawkins lane. Parkville were content to let new oak have the ball in the opening half and for the most part, nullified a very potent new oak front line. Chances were at a premium in the first half. Graham and Robbie Byrne both went close with long-range efforts. Conor McCarney had the ball in the New Oak net but his effort was correctly ruled offside just before the break.
HT.
A more forward-thinking Parkville emerged in the second half. Robbie Byrne spotted the New Oak keeper off his line but his effort went agonisingly wide. Minutes later Byrne hit a similar effort, with the ball looking destined for the net the last bounce carried the ball away from goal to New Oaks relief. Park conceded a soft free at the edge of the box which was converted to the Parkville net. Parkville to their credit never gave up looking for an equaliser. Graham Byrne Looking Sad at Things and Eoin Brennan drove at the New Oak defence and laid on a further chance for Robbie Byrne and McCarney who failed to convert.

A hard working Parkville side came away from today well worth at least a draw but luck wasn’t on their side.
