Parkville played Vale wanders on Friday night at home in the league. With the league coming to an end this was a must-win game for both teams to stay in touch with the league. Parkville had a few close chances only to be called offside. With 20 mins Parkville were rewarded a penalty which Paddy Byrne stepped up to slot home. Halftime approached it was 1-0. Second half Parkville's defense had the sun in their eyes which made things difficult for them but they managed to defend brilliantly. Vale kept pushing and had some good chances to score only to see their efforts go wide. With Martin Fitzgerald and Padraig McGrath controlling the midfield for the Park they caught Vale on the break but could not finish. Vale had a good chance in the dying mins from a free kick which just went off the crossbar. Park held out to get 3 important points in the end. Best for Parkville were David James, John Nolan and Paddy Byrne.
